What is DSIP?

DSIP (delta sleep-inducing peptide) is a naturally occurring neuropeptide studied for its reported association with delta-wave sleep and stress regulation. The research literature is mixed, which makes it an active area of investigation.

How DSIP works (research mechanism)

DSIP research examines its role in sleep architecture, stress-hormone modulation, and pain endpoints, though the exact mechanism remains a research question.

Primary research applications

Sleep research

Studied for sleep-quality and delta-wave endpoints in models.

Stress-regulation research

Examined for stress-hormone modulation.

Pain-modulation research

Used in exploratory pain-endpoint designs.

Research dosing reference

Research references commonly cite 100-300 mcg before rest periods, used as-needed. Reference values only.

Reconstitution & handling

DSIP ships as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder and must be reconstituted before use in any liquid research model. Allow the vial to reach room temperature, swab the stopper, then add bacteriostatic water slowly down the inside wall of the vial - never spray it directly onto the powder. Swirl gently until dissolved; do not shake, as shaking foams the solution and stresses the peptide. The volume of water you add sets the concentration: a 5 mg vial reconstituted with 2 mL yields 2,500 mcg/mL, so 0.1 mL measures 250 mcg. A correctly reconstituted DSIP solution is clear; discard if it is cloudy or shows particulate.

Storage & stability

Store un-reconstituted DSIP vials refrigerated and protected from light for long-term stability; the lyophilized form is robust and tolerates shipping. After reconstitution, refrigerate at 2-8C, keep away from light, and use within the typical research window of roughly two to four weeks. The benzyl alcohol in bacteriostatic water helps inhibit microbial growth across that period. Always label reconstituted vials with the concentration and date.

Common research pairings

Generally studied as a standalone sleep-research peptide.

How DSIP compares

DSIP is studied specifically for sleep and stress endpoints, distinct from the hormone and cognitive peptides.

The figures below are reference values compiled from the research literature for laboratory study design only. They are not instructions for any living subject. See the full DSIP research reference for complete detail and citations.

Half-life and exposure. Short acting

Pharmacokinetics (research reference). Human pharmacokinetics are not standardized. Treat exposure as short acting unless compound-specific data or formal formulation labeling indicates otherwise.

Research timing. Evening or bedtime research timing is typical; avoid first exposure before an important sleep/work cycle.

Dose-escalation reference. Start low because sedation, stimulation, or lack of response can be individualized.

Monitoring in research models. Monitor vivid dreams, morning grogginess, paradoxical stimulation, headache, or sleep disruption.

Reassessment cadence. Sleep-focused protocols should be reassessed after 1-3 weeks. Continue only if sleep quality improves without next-day impairment or paradoxical stimulation.

Stacking notes (research). Pairs cautiously with sleep protocols; avoid combining with multiple sedating or neuroactive agents initially.

Sourcing, purity & Certificate of Analysis

Every lot of DSIP sold by Peptides Factory Direct is third-party tested to a 99%+ purity target, with identity confirmed by mass spectrometry and purity quantified by HPLC. A Certificate of Analysis (COA) documenting these results is available on request and ties each vial to a tracked lot. Material ships nationwide to all 50 US states with cold-chain handling where appropriate and fast domestic dispatch. This documentation is what separates research-grade DSIP from unverified material - quality is established before the vial ever reaches your lab.
