How is a research account created?
Registration happens at the order portal at /order, where a name and email address are submitted. There is no charge to create an account. Once the account exists and a password has been set, live pricing and current stock become visible and orders can be submitted for manual review. Accounts are intended for buyers who are 21 or older and purchasing for laboratory research.
Why is an account needed to see pricing?
Pricing and inventory are shown after sign-in so that the catalog reflects real-time availability rather than a stale published list. It also keeps the catalog aligned with the research-use terms that apply to these materials. Registration is free, and browsing the full catalog after sign-in costs nothing and carries no obligation to order.
What is the set-password email?
After registering, a message titled Set your password is sent to the email address provided. It contains a one-time link that opens the password page with the account already identified. That link is what proves control of the email address, which is why a password cannot be set without it.
How long is the set-password link valid?
Seven days from the moment it is issued. After that the link stops working and returns a message saying it has expired. Submitting the registration form again at the order portal at /order with the same email address issues a fresh link, so an expired link is a minor inconvenience rather than a lost account.
What are the password requirements?
A password must be at least 8 characters, and it must be entered identically in both fields on the set-password page. There is no restriction on which characters can be used. If the two entries do not match, or the password is shorter than 8 characters, the page reports the problem before anything is submitted.
The set-password email did not arrive. What now?
Check the spam or promotions folder first, since automated messages from a new sender are commonly filtered there. Confirm the email address was typed correctly, because a message sent to a mistyped address cannot be recovered. If nothing arrives after both checks, submit the registration form again to trigger a new send, or write to [email protected].
The link says it is missing its token. What does that mean?
That message appears when the password page is opened without the identifying parameters that the emailed link carries, which usually happens when the address is typed manually or when a mail client truncates a long URL. Opening the link directly from the email, rather than copying part of it, resolves this in nearly every case.
The link says it is invalid or already used. What now?
Each set-password link works once. After a password has been set, the link is retired, and reopening it produces that message. If the password was set successfully, the next step is simply to sign in at the order portal at /order. If it was not, submitting the registration form again issues a new link.
How does an existing account holder sign in?
Sign-in happens at the order portal at /order using the registered email address and the password that was set. After sign-in, live pricing, current stock, and the order submission form become available. There is no separate account subdomain or app, so the order portal is the single entry point for account access.
What happens if registration is submitted for an account that already exists?
If the email address already has a password set, the system reports that the account exists rather than creating a duplicate, and the correct next step is to sign in. If the account exists but no password was ever set, a fresh set-password link is sent to that address instead. Duplicate accounts are not created for the same email.
How is a forgotten password handled?
Submitting the registration form again at the order portal at /order with the registered email address sends a new set-password link to that address, which allows a new password to be chosen. Because the link goes only to the registered address, access to that inbox is what controls account recovery.
Can the email address on an account be changed?
The email address identifies the account, so it is not changed from within the portal. Write to [email protected] from the address currently on file, stating the new address, and the request will be handled manually. Sending from the address on file is what allows the change to be verified before anything is altered.
Why is an access request required for some registrations?
Ordering and accounts are currently limited to the United States. Registrations from outside the United States open a request form asking for name, company or laboratory, email, phone, and address. That request is reviewed manually, and an account can be opened once it is approved. The research-use and age requirements apply regardless of location.
Is there an account requirement for distributor pricing?
Distributor and wholesale access runs through a separate approval process described on the distributor page at /become-a-distributor. A standard research account is created first, and distributor terms are applied to it after approval, so distributor pricing appears within the same portal rather than at a different sign-in.
What information is stored on an account?
An account holds the name and email supplied at registration, any shipping details provided with an order, and the order history associated with that address. Passwords are not stored in readable form. Handling of that information is described on the privacy policy page linked in the site footer.
Who can open an account?
Accounts are for buyers who are 21 or older and purchasing for legitimate laboratory research. All products are supplied strictly for in-vitro and laboratory research use only, are not for human or animal consumption, are not FDA approved, and are not treatments or supplements. Anyone with a health or medication question should consult a licensed clinician. Other topics are indexed at /questions.
