What is Epithalon?

Epithalon (Epitalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide based on a naturally occurring pineal peptide. It is one of the most-cited peptides in longevity research because of its reported association with telomerase activity and telomere length in study models.

How Epithalon works (research mechanism)

Epithalon research focuses on potential activation of telomerase - the enzyme that maintains telomeres - and on pineal/melatonin-axis regulation, both of which are longevity-research variables.

Primary research applications

Telomere and longevity research

The central research theme, studying telomerase and cellular-aging endpoints.

Pineal / circadian research

Examined for melatonin-axis and sleep-regulation variables.

Cellular-aging models

Used in broad aging-research designs.

Research dosing reference

Research references commonly cite 1 mg daily across a 10-day cycle, repeated every 3-6 months. Reference values only.

Reconstitution & handling

Epithalon ships as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder and must be reconstituted before use in any liquid research model. Allow the vial to reach room temperature, swab the stopper, then add bacteriostatic water slowly down the inside wall of the vial - never spray it directly onto the powder. Swirl gently until dissolved; do not shake, as shaking foams the solution and stresses the peptide. The volume of water you add sets the concentration: a 5 mg vial reconstituted with 2 mL yields 2,500 mcg/mL, so 0.1 mL measures 250 mcg. A correctly reconstituted Epithalon solution is clear; discard if it is cloudy or shows particulate.

Storage & stability

Store un-reconstituted Epithalon vials refrigerated and protected from light for long-term stability; the lyophilized form is robust and tolerates shipping. After reconstitution, refrigerate at 2-8C, keep away from light, and use within the typical research window of roughly two to four weeks. The benzyl alcohol in bacteriostatic water helps inhibit microbial growth across that period. Always label reconstituted vials with the concentration and date.

Common research pairings

Studied as a standalone longevity peptide, sometimes alongside Thymosin Alpha-1 in aging-research designs.

How Epithalon compares

Epithalon is studied for telomere/longevity endpoints specifically, distinguishing it from immune-focused Thymosin Alpha-1 and cognitive peptides.

Safety & research considerations

Epithalon is a research chemical not approved for human use. For laboratory research only.

Epithalon research reference data

The figures below are reference values compiled from the research literature for laboratory study design only. They are not instructions for any living subject. See the full Epithalon research reference for complete detail and citations.

Half-life and exposure. Short acting; signaling window context dependent

Pharmacokinetics (research reference). Human pharmacokinetics are not standardized. Treat exposure as short acting unless compound-specific data or formal formulation labeling indicates otherwise.

Research timing. Often used in short cycles; timing can be evening or consistent daily depending circadian objective.

Dose-escalation reference. Begin at lower end to evaluate sleep/circadian response before increasing.

Monitoring in research models. Monitor fatigue, sleep changes, headache, vivid dreams, or injection tolerance.

Reassessment cadence. Commonly treated as short-course pulse use rather than continuous indefinite exposure. Reassess after 10-20 days and allow an off-interval before repeat courses.

Stacking notes (research). Pairs conceptually with Pinealon, thymic bioregulators, and mitochondrial protocols; avoid bloated stacks during first cycles.

Sourcing, purity & Certificate of Analysis

Every lot of Epithalon sold by Peptides Factory Direct is third-party tested to a 99%+ purity target, with identity confirmed by mass spectrometry and purity quantified by HPLC. A Certificate of Analysis (COA) documenting these results is available on request and ties each vial to a tracked lot. Material ships nationwide to all 50 US states with cold-chain handling where appropriate and fast domestic dispatch. This documentation is what separates research-grade Epithalon from unverified material - quality is established before the vial ever reaches your lab.
